New Beginings

As well as the business of SSM, biannual Chapter Meetings are occasions for the convivial airing of perspectives and opinions necessary to make breakthroughs.

The most recent Chapter Meeting at Victor Harbor in November 2014 was no exception, with around 15 members gathering in bright early summer sunshine for fellowship, prayer and reflection.

The business of SSM included the Annual General Meeting, at which Christopher Myers was reelected Australian Provincial for a new three-year term.

Constitutional change was another important step, as SSM Australia begins to look to transition to a new form of sacred mission more reflective of the contemporary and rapidly expanding thought of the world it now inhabits.

The changes, via the membership committee, with the support of SSM’s lawyer John Henry, were the subject of spirited debate before members approved and signed-off on the wording.

As it sets its sights on the future, SSM welcomes the thoughtful reflections of faithful people who support the sacred mission. These SSM companions will be integral to SSM as it takes the next right step.

And what is that to be?
