‘I want to insist that God and religion are not quite the same… even though in a book about God, one cannot very well help talking about religion.’
‘It is most important that we should realise that to believe in God, to look at, and think about God and what God does, is not the same thing as believing in religion.’
‘…believing in religion, in fact, means believing in and thinking about certain practices and states of mind of our own.’
A Eucharist at St John’s at 11 am on 29 September marks the patronage of St Michael and All Angels in the life and work of SSM.
SSM’s Theological Colloquium was a study in traditional religious vows, the thinking behind them and their relevance to the world they inhabit.
The Rev’d Phillip Zamagias joined SSM members for dinner at the colloquium. Each year SSM provides an annual grant for the Parish of Fred’s Pass.
